This project appears to have never been built. This project includes the installation of a 25 MW / 14 MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) in the Anchorage area. This device will add stability to the system and provide a measure of “spin” to facilitate spooling-up alternative generation in the event of an outage. The BESS is part of Alaska Railbelt Cooperative Transmission and Electric Company's (ARCTEC) Unconstrain Bradley Lake Hydroelectric Project. The project aims to improve the transmission system between Anchorage and Kenai.
