Dominion Virginia Power installed more than 265 solar panels on the rooftop of R-MC's Copley Science Center, making this project the state’s first fully integrated solar and battery storage site of its kind, which will help provide a steady delivery of electricity even when the sun is not shining. The project, under Dominion Virginia Power’s Solar Partnership Program, will test two unique battery technologies, along with the roof-mounted solar system, to determine its effects on the distribution system.
